Recorded in the year 2000, this album was the culmination of the career of The Sharp Four, a jazz quartet formed by teenagers from Atlanta, Georgia.

Guitarist Eric Sullivan and bassist Jeff Smith began playing together in their high school music class before joining forces with pianist Corey Kasten. The band solidified after meeting drummer David Christian at a jazz clinic and soon began performing around Atlanta. Regular gigs at restaurants and special events led the group to record this album the summer before the members went to college.

Featuring original arrangements of standards and lesser known gems, The Sharp Four was recorded at Allgood Studios in Atlanta with production assistance provided by the band's mentor, legendary pianist and teacher Ted Howe.
